East Brunswick Community Players

Who are the East Brunswick Community Players? Why is the Theatre named Playhouse 22? What does it all mean?

It all started a long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far… Oh, wrong story. Actually, it all started a long, long time ago in a county located in central New Jersey. A small band of merry men and women formed the East Brunswick Community Players. Their goal was to provide good theatre (and good fun) to the residents of their community which was known as Middlesex.

The EBCP (that's the East Brunswick Community Players) toiled and labored and worked weekends - matinees on Sundays - to bring the best entertainment to their town. For years and years the troubadours sang and danced and acted and worked without a home. They rehearsed in basements and barns, they danced and acted and performed their shows in schools and churches, they sang in the shower.

Finally, after wandering through the wilderness of Middlesex County for almost Fourty years (O.K., it was only Twenty - Two years) they came to the lush green land of East Brunswick. Fortunately, the Town took them in and provided them with their own little Playhouse. So after wandering for 22 years the EBCP found a Playhouse, and with a little paint and a new sign Playhouse 22 was born.

Ed. Note: This story, while it may be hard to believe, is absolutely true. Do you think we could make this stuff up.
