Christian Carrara (Director) is beyond excited to finally put a production outside on the amphitheater stage here at Playhouse 22! His past directorial credits include The Great American Trailer Park Musical, Evil Dead the Musical, and Grease here at Playhouse 22. To the cast he would like to say, “BLAM!” Enjoy the show!!!
Marty Alen Angstreich (Music Director) is celebrating his 45th year as a musician/performer and his 30th year as a Music Director and is thrilled to be working with this amazing cast and crew on this Broadway adaptation of one of his favorite 80’s movies. Other productions include West Side Story, Oklahoma!, Carousel, Little Shop of Horrors, Sound of Music, Fiddler on the Roof, Bye Bye Birdie, The Wiz, South Pacific, Wizard of Oz, Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat, Godspell, The Last Five Years, Peter Pan, Grease!, Guys and Dolls, High School Musical, You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown, The Music Man, Theatre Revue. Marty is also accompanist for “Married to Broadway”, featuring many Broadway stars including Ron Sharpe, Barbra Russell, Natalie Toro, James Barber, and others, and teaches Voice and Piano privately. Marty would like to thank his family and friends for all their love and support. Break a toenail!!!
Isabel Badillo (Ida) Isabel has done vocal performances as Aya in the play “Secret Garden” in 2015. She sang in school glee clubs, plays such as Bye Bye Birdie and Little Abner. She sang 1hr shows at senior assisted living. Studied with Janice Cavalier, Rita Davidsen, Sarah B. Krieger, Daria Dagon and Kathleen Spadafino of East Brunswick. She cantors, sings funerals and occasionally weddings at Corpus Christi Church in South River, NJ. She also sings with the East Brunswick Community Chorus, St. Francis Cathedral festival choir in Metuchen NJ, St. Thomas Apostle Church Choir in Old Bridge NJ and Riseup Chorus in Metuchen NJ. Born from Portugese parents Valentim Neves and Albertina Miranda Neves, Isabel is one of 9 children. She speaks a little Portugese and some Spanish. As a soprano 1, she enjoys singing all genres of music, especially Arias. She enjoys making wedding favors, flower arrangements, and light interior decorating. She has two children and and they mean the world to her. She is looking forward to opening night and many other future performances with the amazing cast and crew, along with everyone involved in making Playhouse 22 a wonderful place to be."
Danielle Balsamo (Ensemble) is delighted to make her Playhouse 22 debut! Danielle recently graduated from Muhlenberg College with Latin Honors (Cum Laude) where she studied Music and Neuroscience and was a member of the RJ Fellows, an elite honors program. She previously performed in the ensemble of Muhlenberg College's production of Hansel and Gretel and was also the head scenic designer for the production. Danielle is grateful to her parents for their constant support as she pursues her love of music and theatre.
James Barton (Jeter) is excited to be performing in his first ever production at Playhouse 22. James has been in shows at Piscataway High School as well as Middlesex County College. James would like to thank his family for pushing him to chase his dreams. James also would like to thank the cast and crew for making this show so much fun.
Alyssa C. Buckwald (Rey) is a soon to be 6th grader attending Hammarskjold Middle School in East Brunswick. She is excited to make her Playhouse 22 debut on the summer stage. Some of her previous shows include Newsies (Mike), The Lion King Jr. (Lioness), High School Musical Jr. (Cheerleader), James and the Giant Peach Jr. (Centipede), along with several productions with Taubenslag Productions. Alyssa would like to thank her friends and family for supporting her throughout the whole production. She would also like to thank her fellow Bomontians and the staff that has that have been working so hard, and punching their cards, pushing through this challenging show.
Nicole Carrara (Cowgirl/Ensemble) is happy to be making her debut at Playhouse 22. Previously she has performed at the Somerset Valley Playhouse where she played Linda in Evil Dead the Musical, Roz Keith in 9 to 5 the Musical, and Betty in The Great American Trailer Park Musical. She hopes you have as much fun watching the show as the cast has performing it!
Amy Chen (Urleen) is thrilled to make her Playhouse 22 debut in Footloose! She just graduated from Solebury School where she played roles including Sally Bowles in Cabaret, Edwin Drood in The Mystery of Edwin Drood and Little Red Ridinghood in Into the Woods. She will be attending The University of the Arts in the Fall majoring in musical theatre. She would like to thank the cast and crew of Footloose, specifically Christian, Marty, Raven, Rachel, Lindsey, and Denise. Also thanks to Peter, Jennine, friends and family.
Chris Costa (Lulu Warnicker/Ensemble) is excited to be a part of Footloose; it is her first show after a 20 year hiatus from any type of public performing. Among her favorite roles of the 15+ plays that she performed at Seton Hall University, her alma mater, are Nora in A Touch of the Poet and Meg in Brigadoon. Her several community theater credits include playing Ado Annie in Oklahoma at Jersey City's Civic Theater and Luisa in The Fantastics with the Skyline Players in Weehawken. Chris has a BS in Elementary Education and English and has a Masters Degree in Counseling from New Jersey City University. She is currently a School Counselor at Hillsborough High School. She would like to thank her husband Phil for all of his love and support and her daughter Danielle for her patience during this undertaking. Chris loves them both very much. You, too, mom!!
Emma Cusmano (Rusty): Emma is a rising senior at Piscataway High School and is so honored to be making her Playhouse 22 debut as Rusty in Footloose! Some of her favorite rolls include, The Addams Family (Wednesday Addams), Peter & the Starcatcher (Smee), American Idiot (Ensemble), Damn Yankees! (Gloria Thorpe) and Guys and Dolls (Mimi). Emma would like to thank her family and friends for all of their love, the cast and crew for their never ending laughs and words of encouragement throughout rehearsals, and the production staff for this amazing opportunity!! Jordyn David (teen ensemble) is excited to be making her Playhouse 22 debut! Jordyn is a graduated senior of Robbinsville High School and will be majoring in theatre at Montclair State University next year. Some of her favorite credits include She Kills Monsters (Agnes Evans), Peter and the Starcatcher (Prentiss; Kelsey Awards nomination), The Drowsy Chaperone (Mrs. Tottendale), Beauty and the Beast (Cogsworth) and Midsummer/Jersey (Titania/Hippolyta). To the cast and production team of Footloose, thank you for an incredible experience and a spectacular show! Angela Dohl (Ethel McCormack) first appeared at Playhouse 22 in 1986 as Frenchy in Grease. Since then she has done every job imaginable around the theater and some you couldn't possibly imagine! Her favorite spot is on stage in roles such as Mazeppa in Gypsy, Sr. Robert Anne in Nunsense, The Narrator in Joseph....., Hattie in Kiss Me Kate, and too many ensemble roles to count. Angela has also appeared locally at Plays in the Park, The Forum, Villagers, Circle, SVP, and EVP. A prime example of right brain/left brain, Angela is a chemical engineer and has her own environmental consulting business. She is a cantor at St. Francis Cathedral in Metuchen and serves as co-director of Kids of the Kingdom (K-2nd children’s choir) and drama director of Vacation Bible School. Angela and her husband have successfully raised three sons and are working on getting the last one out of the house!
Lindsey Dress (ensemble) is thrilled to make her Playhouse 22 debut! Her previous shows include The Toxic Avenger (ensemble), Circle Mirror Transformation (Theresa), and Legally Blonde (Elle Woods). Lindsey would like to thank her family and friends for being her biggest fans! Congrats to the cast and crew! Enjoy the show!
Kaitlyn Franck (Ensemble) is thrilled to be a part of Footloose! Kaitlyn just finished assistant vocal directing her high school’s production of High School Musical and student directed 12 Angry Jurors, which won a Foxy Award nomination for Outstanding Achievement in Stage Direction. Other favorite roles include: Fiddler on the Roof (Shprintze), Sound of Music (Brigitta), and Dream Street at the Pearl Theatre in NYC (Elena). Kaitlyn is excited to be attending UNCSA next year as a film major and thanks her family and friends for all their love and support!
Skyler Gonzalez (Ensemble) is ecstatic to be debuting on the Summer Stage Under The Stars at Playhouse 22! She has been dancing for 12 years and was previously in The Addams Family (Dance Captain / Ensemble) and Seussical The Musical Jr. (Ensemble). As it is her first community theater show Skyler is extremely grateful to be apart of Footloose and for the opportunity to work with such talented and inspiring performers. Skyler would like to thank her family and friends for their endless support, the production staff for their guidance and knowledge, and of course the cast for all their love and for making this an experience of a lifetime. Lindsey Jordon (Ensemble/Dance captain) is ecstatic to be performing back at Playhouse 22 after 2 years! Stage credits include Minnie(West Side Story),Rita (Thoroughly Modern Millie), Purity (Anything Goes, NJACT Perry Nominee), Connie (A Chorus Line), and Rumpleteazer (Cats). She is also a choreographer for Artistic Visions Dance Company. Thanks to Christian, Marty and her best friend Raven for all the super fun times and for being so fantastic! All her love goes to her Parents and Chris for the support after all these years!
Marissa Marciano (Ariel) a recent WW-P South graduate, is thrilled to be a part of her 7th Playhouse 22 production. Marissa has been performing since age 6 and has appeared in over 35 Community Theater and school productions. Some favorite past roles include Campbell in Bring It On, Doralee in 9-5, The Cat in Seussical, Mary Cratchit in A Christmas Carol and an array of Ensemble characters in The Producers. Marissa is looking forward to starting her freshman year at Montclair State University where she will be majoring in Musical Therapy. Lots of love to the entire cast and production staff who made this a fun experience. Biggest thanks to my family and friends who continue to support me.
Pete Matseur is Principal Harry Clark. He just appeared in Man of LaMancha as the Captain of the Inquisition. Last year he was in Big Fish at Playhouse 22. Pete is President of Playhouse 22. Hope everyone has a great time at Footloose. Everybody cut, Everybody cut, Footloose!
Justin Mendez (Garvin) is ecstatic to be in the 2019 production of Footloose. Previously, he played Caveman in The Addams Family at Piscataway High School, and Deborah in Broken Hearts!: The Musical. This is his third musical he is performing in, previously being dance orientated, but is excited to pursue his acting career further in school, and with other playhouses, like Playhouse 22.
Jim Morris (Reverend Shaw Moore) is thrilled to be making his Playhouse 22 debut in Footloose. Other past roles include Adult Men in Spring Awakening, Don Alejandro in ZORRO, Sheldrake in Sunset Blvd, Snyder in Newsies, and Caliban in The Tempest. Enjoy the show!
Nicole Onyeze (Ensemble) is in one of the first productions she have been apart of. Because of this, I have been extremely excited to work on Footloose with Playhouse 22. This experience has been nothing short of enjoyable for me, despite the hard work put in.
Alexander Portera (Ren McCormack) is elated to be in this production. He was last seen as Paco in Playhouse 22's production of Man of La Mancha and was running back and forth from that and Footloose rehearsals, it's a miracle he can still dance from all that running. His favorite rolls are cinnamon rolls and Little Debbie Pecan Swirls. However, his favorite roles are Christopher Wren in The Mousetrap, Sonny in Grease, both at Playhouse 22, and Roy Selridge in Biloxi Blues at Somerset Valley Playhouse. He would like to thank Christian, Raven, Lindsey, Rachel and Marty for this magnificent opportunity. Suzanne Ramsey-Restivo (Vi Moore) is so happy to be returning to Playhouse 22 in this inaugural production Under the Stars! She was last seen here in her Dream Role as Rose in GYPSY, where ironically she got the privilege of playing Marissa’s (Ariel) mom then too! So excited to be sharing the stage again with my “Baby!” (She was 7 then, and she’s all grown up now!) Other favorite roles are Mrs. Potts in BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, Dolly Levi in “HELLO, DOLLY!”, and Rona in 25th ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE. Ariana Solis (Ensemble) is thrilled to be making her Playhouse 22 debut on the summer stage for Footloose. Ariana is a theatre major and has had a love for acting since she was seven years old. She has also been involved in other forms of performing arts such as choir, marching band, and improv. Some of her past credits include Toxic Avenger (Sarah), Shrek the Musical (Dragon), The Good Doctor (The Defenseless Creature), and Wilde and Wilder (Lady Bracknell). She would like to thank the cast for the endless amounts of love and support!
Lexi Trechak (Ensemble) is ecstatic to be making her Playhouse 22 debut! She has participated in East Brunswick High Schools drama club for many years. Her past roles include Peter Pan (Indian & Dance Captain), Cinderella (Mice/Coachmen & Dance Captain), The Tempest (Ariel), The Music Man (Zaneeta & Dance Captain), and Rethink Theatricals production of Stages a Legacy in Revue (Dancer). Lexi has a passion for dance and has been studying various styles for 16 years! Lexi would like to thank the cast and crew for putting this amazing show together. She would also like to thank her wonderful friends and family for always supporting her on and off stage.

Kaitlyn Young (Ensemble) is ecstatic to be making her Playhouse 22 debut. She is a rising senior at Robbinsville High School. Some of her favorite productions include Thoroughly Modern Millie (Bun Foo), Titanic (Ensemble), and Beauty and the Beast (Featured Dancer) at the Kelsey Theatre. When not on stage Kaitlyn often works backstage at various productions and plays 10 instruments. She’d like to give a shout out to Christian, Raven, Marty, and the entire production staff for this incredible opportunity!
Michelle Caldwell (Eleanor Dunbar) is a native of the Bronx, NY and a graduate of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. She is a proud member of the Screen Actors Guild, and has appeared in various theatrical productions in and around the New York City Area. She is beyond happy to have become a part of the Playhouse 22 family and a member of the amazing “Footloose” cast.
Kelly Rayner (The cop/ Adult Ensemble) is thrilled to be a part of this AMAZING show!!! Kelly's past Play house 22 credits which were ALL OFF stage as she stage managed, are Man Of La Mancha, Smokey Joe's Cafe, Grease, and Vanya. Footloose is her 1st show EVER as a cast member!!!! She would like to thank Christian, Raven and Lindsey for believing in her more then she believed in herself, for all the extra help and for pushing her to be the best she can be on stage!!! JC DeMaria (Willard) can’t wait to take the stage in Footloose. Some of his favorite roles of the past have been Finch in How to Succeed..., Jack in Into the Woods, Sebastian in Cinderella, and P.T. Barnum in Barnum. He was nominated for the 2015 Perry Award for Outstanding Youth Actor in a play and won the 2017 Perry Award for Outstanding Youth Actor in a Musical for his performance as Eugene in Grease here at Playhouse 22. JC will be attending Montclair State University in the fall, studying political science. Anna Gleason (Wendy Jo) is absolutely thrilled to be a part of Playhouse 22’s first Under The Star Production of Footloose The Musical. Anna is an incoming junior at South Brunswick High School and loves to take part in the fall play and spring musical there. When she’s not in school, Anna is always working on some aspect of performing, whether it be in dance classes or voice lessons. Some of Anna’s favorite previous roles include “Audrey” in Little Shop of Horrors, “Miss Sandra” in All Shook Up, “Brooke” in Be More Chill, “Natalie” in All Shook Up, and of course, the role that started it all, “The Sad Clown” in Brunswick Acres Elementary School’s world renowned production of Circus Circus. Anna would like to thank Christian, Raven, Marty, Rachel, and every other human being that was played a part in making this production as incredible as it is. To her wonderful cast, break a leg!
